THIS IS MY STORY

"Your future lies in your studying, so you must study very hard." My children probably tire of hearing these words from me, their mother, but I see it as the most important lesson I can give them. For me, like many others displaced during years of rebel activity in northern Uganda, the option for continued education was never there. Yet, the end of the war carried its own set of challenges and for me, with limited resources, I was faced with the task of providing for members of my family.

Since finding a job with WEND, I have experienced joys previously considered unachievable. Working as a tailor enables me to pay for my four children’s school fees and save money for the future. I am rearing goats and chickens for sale, building a four-room house for my family and dream of buying a second hand vehicle.
