THIS IS MY STORY

In 2007, I learned how to sew from the people at Mend (now WEND). I love making bags and sewing, but most of all I love that I can support my kids and allow them to go to school. I'm also able to use the money I make to start my own small businesses that focus on food.

Although I was not abducted, the war still affected me as a child. It was extremely difficult to be put into that traumatizing situation at such a young age. I never got to go to school, but I am still inspired to work hard so that my own children will have the opportunities that they deserve.

Hi. My name is Betty.

I made your bag.

WHEN SHE'S NOT AT WEND MAKING BAGS, BETTY LOVES SPENDING TIME TAKING CARE OF HER 4 CHILDREN - DARFIN, LUCY, SUNDAY, AND WALTER.
